I stayed at the Waverley Hotel over the weekend. I found the staff to be polite and friendly, the food was excellent, plentiful and well priced as was the alcohol. The Hotel itself was clean and tidy and generally very pleasent. On Sunday evening I had a chat with the proprietor at the the bar, a good and decent man, I'll be returning again at some point, thankyou.
We didn't stop at the hotel, so I can't comment about the accommodation. Just went for a meal. The staff are nice and made us feel welcome. The menu is nice and varied and the food was generous, without being mass produced. Nice staff, tasty food, reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
A great family run hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly as expected. The hotel is not a modern, which suited us fine, however has all the amenities needed. They allow pets too. Well worth a visit. We will definitely go back.
Our favourite place to visit at the weekend, the food is great. Lots to choose from on the menu, spoiled for choice. The prawn salads are huge! There's also a great drink selection too. Nice bar area and two further dining rooms; as well as decked outside area.
this place is old, you can tell, its also a little run down and needs a make over but overall my stay was fine. the room as large and comfortable. Very clean and quiet. the breakfast was decent but its like a funeral parlour as its so quiet, no TV or radio, nobody speaking, no newspapers. its right in the centre of whitehaven which is good, choice of bars seconds away if you want to wander. I am glad i tried it.
Staff and breakfast very good standard. It's a 300 year old building so to get a good room standard is challenging, all the same it was a bit spartan and the bathroom could have been tidier ( half used soap with previous occupants hair stuck to it left on the bath). Also on site parking very limited for the modern larger vehicles. Having said that very reasonable value for money.
Great place. Arrived quite late but was still served one of the nicest meals iv had anywhere. Rooms very comfortabe and staff spot on. Rely happy with my stay.
I stayed in a twin room which was spacious and modern. A very good shower. The rest of the hotel was a bit worn and dated and in need of a refurb. The breakfast the next day was decent. Happy to store our bicycles, and has a free car park. Centrally located and handy for all amenities such as the train station, bars, restaurants and the start of the C2C!
